Oh my goodness, it's so good to be back! These past two weeks have been so busy in the library. I gave a booktalk this past Monday on 7 different books, so I was busy spending most of my free time reading some new books and rereading the ones that I haven't read in a few years. It went very well, I think. I was extremely long winded. Really, when am I not. But, the assistant principal told me that the kids seemed really attentive and engaged the whole time and I was thrilled when I had multiple students check out the books from the booktalk! I even had lots of students put holds on the books because other students had made it a point to check some of them out right away. So that made me a very happy librarian!!
Then on Wednesday, I gave a lesson on Destiny Quest, part of our card catalog which students can interact online and do some pretty cool things. I received some wonderful feedback from the students! They all seemed to really enjoy Destiny Quest and most of the students said they would use it in the future. So I would say that it was a success! I was also observed by my principal and assistant principal. Thankfully, they both really enjoyed the lesson and gave me some great compliments that really made my day!
Also, these past two weekends I saw some of my community theater pals in their high school musicals. Congrats to you all! And I had a fabulous time seeing some of my old friends who I haven't seen in a very long time! That always makes for a wonderful evening.
Today was another great day! I found my shoes for the big day and I purchased an adorable dress to wear to the shower! Both at great prices. And I think I found the perfect flower girl dress today, finally! YES YES and YES!!
