Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Paddy's Day, my lovely readers! I'm enjoying the holiday of my people, by taking a nice walk on my treadmill and watching Dancing with the Stars. Pretty festive, am I right?! No, but I did try to be kind of Irish-y (is that a thing?) today. I actually remembered to wear green. This shirt is totally green, btw. I swear! These pictures give the color no justice. 

Happy belated b-day Stephanie!

Happy belated birthday to my beautiful sister, Stephanie!! Stephanie is like the yin to my yang. We're pretty much the same person. We're both librarians, both love math, both love science, both love reading, both bad at spelling, both redheads... you get the picture. Steph, I hope yesterday was great! Love ya!

Valentine's Day gives all the love to pinks and reds, but I like the thought of bringing purple into your Valentine's Day wardrobe to give it a fresh feel. I paired these pastel pink jeans from Target with a deep, rich purple top from New York and Company. I didn't think I would love it as much as I do, but it's great! If you're trying to pull off this look without looking too much like a young girl, mix the light pink with a darker purple shade in a nice lush fabric. This shirt is like a dream. It's dressy enough that I can wear it to work, but I could dress it down for a night out with the girls. And the best part was that it was recently on sale for less than $10!!

long weekend

Due to mother nature's decision to have a huge snow storm directly followed by frigid temps, I'm getting the chance to enjoy a nice long four day weekend! YES! Can't complain too much about having to make up the days since I was able to spend an extra day with Evan, spend more time with my friends, re-watch Frozen, and play Mario 64 all day. Quadruple win!

So, I didn't quite meet my goal of getting all of the save-the-dates sent out by the end of December. Yeah, I totally blew that deadline. And felt like blowing my brains out when I had to print out all the envelopes one by one by one.  But thankfully I only have a handful left to get out! That makes for a happy weekend and a happy me! Now I just need to make sure I get the rest of them made and out in the mail by Wednesday.  Maybe doing everything homemade wasn't the best idea I ever had....

6.5 month excitement

With six and a half months until the wedding, I'd say planning is going really well so far! Now I'm going to have to start devoting my time to things like invitations, flowers, table numbers, favors, and decorations. And suits. Still need the suits. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing all the guys look dapper as ever! Especially Evan. Gotta love that man in a good suit and tie! All the feels. :)

I've got that reading problem

Lately I've been spending my free time catching up on my reading. Okay...when don't I normally do that? But I've had a little bit more time in the past few days to catch up and I just finished one of the most beautiful books yesterday! I devoured John Green's "The Fault in our Stars" yesterday afternoon. This book made me laugh and sob at the same time.

First day back at school and wearing my new skirt from Evan! I'm in love with it. I've seen skirts like this for a while all over the fashion blogs, but every time I went to buy one online they would always be out of stock. Windsor finally put one online and I'm obsessed!! Super good quality and looks so cute! It made me feel really good today getting lots of compliments at work and a little girl told me that I looked "really cute."

Ringing in the New Year!

2013 was pretty amazing. I got engaged, recorded my voice demo, got offered a couple of long term sub jobs, passed my mid-level math and library science praxis exams, made some awesome new friends, and wonderful memories. I know that 2014 will be just as great as 2013 was, if not better!! So much to look forward to!!!!!!

Think Pink

Of course, what is fall without flannel shirts. 

Brightening up my fall attire with a warm pink mix. These shades are all monochromatic and are super fun and cozy for fall. I've pretty much been obsessed with this particular flannel since I purchased it last Christmas. I'm surprised it hasn't been photographed more often considering how much it rotates through my closet. I was lucky enough to snag this baby last Black Friday for $7!

First day of school

Today was my first day back to school - getting my sub on. 

And here I was thinking I wasn't gonna get called in again this week. Wrong.

Like an idiot, I stayed up until 4am. 

What was I doing?

Rewatching Pretty Little Liars season 1, of course, trying to catch the clues of who A really is. Clearly. 

But then I woke up this morning to a text message buzzing in my ear at 8:29 telling me to be at school at 8:30!! YIKES!!!!

Still seem to be living last night's VMAs over and over in my mind. I was even dreaming about them last night. The good, the bad, and the disturbing.

A few changes around these parts. I'm so sorry if there is any confusion. Theater Geek and Teacher Chic went through an identity crisis. I've decided to change the blog's title to my name, Whitney Justine, as it represents me for who I am. Not just only certain aspects of my life.

What a nice relaxing day. I got to go to church this morning, have a little shopping time with my pooper, and now I'm watching The Avengers with my fajah and pap. And maybe being a little distracted by blogging this at the same time. heh.

I had jury duty for the past two days. I know, right! Ugh. It's the worst. Actually, it's not so bad. But it really snotted on my parade, because that meant that I'd be missing out on work and I only make $9 a day as a juror. And this really burned my biscuits. I'm left with a whopping $3 once I paid for parking. And negative money once I bought lunch. linaiefyoai!

Okay. Honestly, I'm ready for this winter be over and done with but it's just refusing to go away! But that doesn't matter. Nope nope nope. Cause this chick is ready for spring, and blossoms, and walks outside, and nice warm air! I'm cheering in the spring with a light Easter egg worthy color palette.
